CHAPTER- 24❣️

Naina's P.O.V.

I am so lucky to have adi as my husband. He never fails to make me happy, smile and yes blush. A lot. My feelings for him have taken a huge turn before they turn to love.

He said yes even without thinking and told me he would convince everyone at home. Oh my god did I fall hard?? Yessss. He's doing so much for me and I feel like I'm doing nothing.

But I need time and adi knows it. He dosent do anything without my permission and priorities my comfort first.

Right now he's helping ma get in the car and making her sit properly. Then he came to me and opened the door for me and made me sit in. I love it when he does that.

I'll do something for him too. Show him how much all his efforts mean to me.

We reached the mansion and he helped ma come out.

The guests were still present in the living room and everyone got up seeing us. I looked at ma and she had a scared look on her face. We've never been welcomed.

The fear of constant rejection made us cry.

"Adi beta" dad said coming to us.

"Papa can ma stay with us for a few days? She just got discharged today." Adi aksed with hopeful eyes.

Dad looked at us and I looked at him waiting for a yes. He saw the look in my eyes which wanted ma to stay with me.

He nodded and adi smiled wide. I stood there shocked. Really they said yes? Omg. The guests were looking at ma with a weird look.

"Adi come to my study I wanna talk to you" dad said and walked away. Is he not okay with this?

Oh no! Is he gonna scold adi?

Adi gave me a reassuring nod and went with him. Ma was taken upto a room.

"It's okay naina she can stay for as long as she likes" mom said smiling at me. I nodded and went away.

Aditya's P.O.V

I walked in and saw dad sitting on his chair with a questioning look in his eyes. I told him everything.

"There is no one back there to take care of ma dad and naina will be there for her." I said and dad smiled.

He nodded and said nothing else just told me to go. Was I able to justify my actions well enough?

I went back to my room and saw naina sitting on the bed. She saw me and came to me and suddenly hugged me. That took me off guard but this time I hurriedly wrapped my arms around her.

I know she's gonna thank me and I'm just waiting for the way she's gonna thank me. My way. Hehe. Her small body pressed against mine felt so good. Perfect fit of her arms around my back and mine around her small one.

My nose was pressed in her neck giving a whiff of her scent that drives me crazy like a drug. This one is a rare and expensive one. I kept inhaling her and pulled her even closer letting her fill my nerves with intoxication.

She too hugged me tight making me smile. I wanted to get on her good side and wanted her to know that I'm always here for her. She can come to me for all her problems.

We just stood there is each other's embrace absorbing the essence of the hug. None of us broke it. Every hug we share brings us closer to each other's trust.

Embracing it to its fullest. Making it the base of our relationship. We stood there for a while until naina hesitantly pulled away.

The warmth disappeared and cold air hit my clothed chest. This warmth is our love. The soft intensity of our hugs still lingered in the gap between us. The small distance was still radiating some heat as if pulling us close again

She kept her small palms on my chest turning me on. I felt their softness through my clothes.

"Thank you adi. Aap nahi hote toh I can't imagine what would've happened to ma" she said and placed her head on my chest.

"No Need to thank me naina. I've said this before and I'm saying it again, your family is my family now. And family is always there for each other." I said caressing her hair.

The sound of sobs and sniffles made me look down to find nainas eyes filled with tears that now streamed down her cheeks.

"Hey hey naina what happened my love" I asked panicked.

She shook her head and hugged me again and I pulled her close. I rubbed her back up and down in a soothing way. She hiccuped and her cries slowly got louder making me scared.

Her face was pressed against my chest

My shirt was wet but I cared less. Right now all I wanted was for her to stop crying and smile. Tears don't suit her. She kept crying squeezing my back tight. I felt so bad for her right now.

Whatever she was going through, I wanted to be a part of that. Take away the pain, frustration, helplessness she's feeling. Her entire right face was now wet and so was half of my shirt. Her chest was heaving up and down rapidly as she struggled to breath hiccuping.

Her face was pressed against my chest which suppressed her loud cries enough for me to hear the helplessness in them. Each tear falling released her of what she held in.

Slowly and slowly her grip weakened on my back until her arms dropped down by her side. Only small hiccups could be heard. I sighed in relief.

Somewhere this was needed. The release of long stored agony. I didn't know what she was going through but I definitely promise to never let her go through it alone.

Had she not released it, it would have taken a much worse shape tormenting her even more.

Her eyes started drooping close and soon the hiccups disappeared leaving her peacefully tired. Her eyes closed and I gently picked her up in my arms and put her on the bed.

I looked at her tear stained face which stabbed my heart. What is she holding inside her? Her whole body was tired and her breathing was back to normal.

This time there were no crease lines on her forehead. I kept looking at her with love. How I don't even know her single pain yet she shows me in different ways. I got into bed beside her and pulled her back to me drifting off to sleep.

Authour's P.O.V

Two sleeping figures we tangled with each other in the room. One of them woke up and look at the other. Adi looked at nainas sleeping figure.

How innocent she looks! He loves looking at her facial features, examining them again and again thinking he might have left something out. How they swell up when he looks at her. But right now they looked dull and he didn't like it.

He kept staring at her face which had dried tears. He lifted his hands caressing her cheeks as if trying to bring back some vibrance making her stir. He quickly pulled his hand back and got up covering her.

He opened the French window and cool breeze hit his face. He took a deep breath letting the cool evening air fill his lungs. Everything was so suffocating right now.

He didn't know what to do? Except be there for his wife, be her shoulder. But how was he supposed to when he wasn't aware of her pain? When he didn't know what she was hiding behind that innocent facade.

All these thoughts kept revolving in his head like a chain tying him in those disturbing thoughts about her pain. The wind blew again and he again took a deep breath letting his thoughts flow with the wind.

"Adi" he looked back and saw naina walking towards him with a blanket draped around her shoulders. Her eyes had bags under them. She didn't sleep well!

The wind blew again and she shivered wrapping the blanket even tighter.

"Lets go in" adi said but naina shook her head.

"It's nice here let's stay for a while" she said shivering slightly.

"You'll catch a cold. Look you're shivering" he covered her properly.

"I've been in there for a long time now it's suffocating. I need some fresh air" she said and went to stand closer. Adi stood behind her hugging her from the back.

The wind was cold. His body gave her warmth. That was there between her back and his chest.

They both stood out for sometime until naina sneezed. She rubbed her nose and sneezed again.

"Ok enough of fresh air. Now you've got a cold." Adi said and lead naina inside closing the windows tightly. The room became chilly. The suffocating air was replaced with the cold breeze which only triggered nainas sensitive nose

Adi tucked naina in bed and intercomed the maid to send tea for naina. Nainas sneezing had begun and now she had a tomato nose and droopy eyes.

Adi turned on the heater in the room. It wasn't even winter yet and the slight change in the weather had a sickening effect on her.

"Adi I have sneeze to see sneeze ma" Naina rubbed her nose and looked at him with swollen eyes.

He raised his eyebrows.

"First look at yourself. Khud ki haalat thik nahi hai aur chali hai madam dusron ko dekhne" adi scolded like a mother and naina just closed her eyes.

The headache was slowly starting to kick in and it was moving to certain parts of her head. Sneezes made it worse.

There was a knock on the door and adi opened it revealing mom with a concerned face.

"Naina kya hua? Are you okay?" Mom rushed in to naina and sat on the bed checking her temperature.

"She kept standing out in the cold despite me telling her to come inside and now she's got a cold" adi said complaining to mom. Naina made a face.

Why were they all worried so much? It's just a minor cold.

"You couldn't bring her inside" mom said turning to adi. Almost glaring at him.

His eyes widen.

"Me? I did. She didn't wanna come inside" adi defended himself. He wasn't at fault yet somehow everyone always favors naina and he likes it.

"Toh utha ke le aata" mom said and huffed. I blushed at the thought. Adi smirked.

What? Ughh!

"Thik hai, agli baar utha ke le aunga agar nahi maani toh" he said. After all he just wanted every chance he could to touch her. Hehe.

The door knocked again and this time the maid brought the tea. Aah yes finally! Indian Chai and cold. Perfect combo.

Naina smiled at the thought of tea. She loved tea. More than milk. She took a sip and moaned as the warm liquid spread through her chest and throat. Although her likes and dislikes didn't matter before neither did her existence.

In no time she was feeling better but her nose was still red. She was once again tucked into bed like a child and was made to sleep forcefully.

She was loving all this care after so long. One kind gesture makes the heart melt and they've done so many. Her heart had already melted a long time ago.

She saw adi smiling from the corner of her eyes.

"Nikama ladka" mom said and huffed at adi. His eyes widen and he whined making me giggle.

Mera nikama! Naina thought.
